OUR NEW NORMAL
COVID-19 and the current Alert Level 4 lockdown situation is unprecedented, but it’s not unplanned for, although in many cases that planning took place pretty quickly.
We saw businesses across the country and in every industry, mobilise their workforces in a mere 48 hours to work from home. It was an impressive feat and just one reason we’re proud of our wee country – Kiwis punching above our weight since ages ago.
WE’RE BACKING OUR PEOPLE
We sent our staff home on the Monday prior to lockdown, which turned out to be a very beneficial move. We are able to trouble shoot all IT hardware, software and systems issues before lockdown came into effect. As a result, we have a fully functioning workforce spread across the North Island, from Taupo and Rotorua, to Auckland and Mangawhai.
Now that we’re all settled at home, we want to let you know its full steam ahead for our teams. We have 48 people working from home, and even though our survey team are spending dramatically reduced hours in the field, they’re adjusting well to their new environment behind a screen.
We’ve even welcomed a new Design Engineer to the family, two weeks into lockdown. It’s the first time we’ve inducted a new starter in an entirely virtual environment and so far, so good. I don’t think they were expecting a full workload on the first week particularly during a nation-wide lockdown.

Just before lockdown was implemented, we were getting ready to celebrate our 6th birthday and treat ourselves to a bit of a makeover. As soon as lockdown lifts and it is safe to get back out in public, we’re heading straight to the salon for a new do. Keep an eye out for a bit of McKenzie & Co. magic over the next few months. It’s going to be fun.

Our project teams are still working efficiently to deliver your projects. In fact, with territorial authorities, architects, urban designers and planning consultants all working remotely, our networks are up and running at full speed.
